Newest Bengali Bombshell in town Koena Mitra says she broke up with her boyfriend because he found her success hard to digest. According to her, she's now looking to shed the item girl tag.

How is life after you broke-up with your boyfriend?
Life is now very smooth and happy. My boyfriend found my success hard to digest. I therefore decided to not to continue doing things that would only satisfy his ego. After sometime I felt he was becoming a burden on me. I was finding it difficult to answer all his nagging questions. After from this, there was no other reason for the break-up.

Did you turn down offers from Karan Johar and Aamir Khan to do item numbers in their respective films?
I certainly felt bad doing so, but I don't want to carry the item girl tag all my life. I think it's a very cheap kind of recognition for me. I want to do full-fledged roles rather than appear in bits and pieces through a film. What matters for me today is acting, not item songs.

You started your Bollywood career with item numbers. Why this sudden aversion now?
Let me tell you something - when Shahrukh Khan dances at wedding parties and does item songs, no one calls him an 'Item Boy'. My point is that when you reach a certain stage in your career, these things don't matter. I want to maintain that dignity. Once I reach that stage, I can also experiment with roles and songs.

What kind of preparation are you doing for your next film Ek Kheeladi Ek Haseena?
I am cast alongside a number of big-name actors in this film, so I have to work hard to make my presence felt. However I am prepared to take tips from my co-stars; I have no ego hassle.
